In today's post, I wanted to share a review of the SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie which I also got from Goodlife Pharmacy.

Product Claims
SheaMoisture's Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie defines curls, reduces frizz and smoothes hair for a soft, silky feel. The product smells amazing and is so thick you only need a little bit for each twist.

Can you tell how happy I am to hold a natural hair cult fave!
I used this product after a full washday routine and after stretching my hair in 4 sections.  I did not do anything elaborate to stretch my hair, rather I just twisted it and pinned the hair in 4 sections.
To get a fuller twistout I prefer to stretch my hair till its about 80% dry. Doing a twistout on wet hair gives me a twistout that looks like a wet cat....Fine haired natural problems!

Stretching my hair in 4 sections

Minimally stretched hair

I then twisted my hair with loose twists at the back and flat twists at the front. I took about 1.5 inch sections of hair, lightly finger detangled and applied about a 1 bob size amount of the curl enhancing smoothie to the section then twisted all the way and applied Ajani Handmade Waridi whipped butter on the ends.

Fine haired natural tip: Try not to twist from the scalp and start twisting half an inch from your scalp to help give your hair some volume

The curl enhancing smoothie makes twisting very easy and does not feel heavy at all. The shine on my twists was heavenly!!!

I then pinned the twists back and tied a headwrap and called it an evening.

The next day I unravelled the twists, separated the smaller sections and fluffed the roots with a wide toothed comb for volume.
My hair is more 4a at the back hence twisting always leave the back section straighter rather than curly/coily. To deal with this, I normally tuck the back pieces and pin them to create a sort of bob shape.

Unravelled twists without fluffing

I do not think my hair has been this shiny

Final product!

My twist out was amazing to say the least, this product did not weigh my hair down and gave me some awesome curl definition while keeping my hair moisturised. I was able to get day 2, 3 and 4 hair which for me is great as my fine hair does not normally cooperate after day 2.

I completely understand why this is a cult favourite amongst naturals across the world. Have you guys used the SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments.
