Kurly Kichana Growth Challenge : The Regimen

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

The #kurlykichanagrowthchallenge 2016 has started off with a bang and we are so excited! I (Nyachomba) wanted to share some stapled that I will be using in my regimen. If you watched the Victoria's Lounge Show on NTV, you know we keep it super simple here. You can check out my before picture here in this post. With all that said, below are the steps in my challenge regimen.

Step 1: I prepoo mainly to soften my hair in order to assist me with finger detangling. My fine hair does not like a lot of manipulation hence prepooing with Shea Oil or Coconut oil really help with removing shed hairs with my fingers. I normally prepoo for about 30 mins.

Step 2: My current regimen involves wearing my hair in low manipulation protective styles for 2 weeks with a rinse once a week. This means that my hair is only washed once every two week, hence shampoo is required to get rid of the build up. I bought this bottle of Tresemme over 1 year ago and it is only just finished. I dilute it with water and spray it on my roots to shampoo.

Step 3: I have been deep conditioning with either Vital Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise or the Aussie 2 Minute Miracle Moist. My fine hair needs a lot of protein and this mayonnaise truly delivers!

Step 4: If you guys don't already know from our Instagram page, we are absolutely in love with the newest entrant into the Kenyan hair market Marini Naturals. Their leave in conditioner is amazing! It is moisturising but does not feel heavy. Check them out on their Facebook Page

Step 5: From twistouts, twists, and updos the Marini Naturals Curl Me Pretty Curling Butter and Curl Magic Curling Gel work a treat. The products are very light and smell like vanilla fudge and strawberries. I have been using them in my updos and also to sleek down my edges.

When I feel my hair is feeling a bit dry between the two weeks, I co-wash with either Aussie Moist or Miraculously Smooth conditioners. They leave my hair clean and moisturised.

I am following the other rules by; Drinking upto 2 litres of water a day, Eating more veggies and drinking green smoothies, trying to exercise eep! and giving myself scalp massages every day whilst concentrating on my edges.

What are your #kurlykichanagrowthchallenge regimens? What products are you guys loving?

One question, don't you oil after the leave-in? Or it isn't compulsory.

As a recovering product junkie, I'm trying to get through my current stash without buying any new products though I'm itching to get my hands on the Marini products, using sofnfree nothing but cleansing cowash plus baking powder rinse for clarifying, Ors hair mayo/Aunty Jackie's soft and sassy conditioner, Cantu leave in and obia curl enhancing custard.

Sorry for the long post lol

@Selfineo.... You can defo oil after the leave-in...I did not include the oils I am using. But yes, you need oil to seal in the moisture. Thanks for the comment
