I got my edges snatched and it was not in a fight you guys! Last year was all about protective styling for me and I tried the full spectrum of protective styles, from my beloved braids to crochet braids and even braided cornrows. What bliss!
The bliss was shortlived however coz after taking out my last crochet braids in late 2015, I realised that my edges were thinning and had two almost bald patches on each side of my head. All this is documented on our instagram page:-)
After I posted this picture on Instagram and asked if you guys would be interested in a hair growth challenge, I got a resounding YES. So here we go, the Kurly Kichana 6 Month Hair Growth Challenge.
With all challenges, we have to have rules
Rule 1: Take a before phot
Rule 2:Increase your water intake
Rule 2: Eat healthy, lots of fruits and vegetables
Rule 4: Increase your exercise
Rule 5: Wash and deep condition your hair at least twice a month
Rule 6: Moisturise your strands and seal your ends
Rule 7: Give yourself scalp and edge massages at least once a day for 5 minutes
Rule 8: Sleep with a satin scarf or on a satin pillow case
Rule 9: Avoid heat at all costs
Rule 10: Wear protective or low manipulation styles as often as you can. These include buns, twists, updo and wigs.*
For myself I will be wearing low manipulation styles mainly updos and loose twists, to save my edges that were.
