That is my face after finally stuffing the #bombshellhair into a scarf. Bobby pins do not hold this hair down Ladies.
Moving on, I have now had my crochet braids in for about 3 weeks and the Marley hair was smelling kinda funky! My daily walks to work do not do my hair any justice, the car fumes are horrible. I decided to wash my hair by just jumping in the shower, scrubbing my scalp with Tresemme Naturals Nourishing moisture shampoo and then doing a quick condition with the matching conditioner. I was terrified the hair would matt like crazy but this did not happen. After the wash, I wrapped my hair in a towel turban till it was dry and whooosh! The hair was back to bombshelling :-) You can see more of my antics on instagram @nyashyk
I noticed my edges had been kinda tight after the cornrows, so I have been applying a mixture of Aloe Vera gel and either almond or jojoba oil every other day and this has really helped. You can get all of these products at most health food stores or Chandarana Supermarket.
I have also been spritzing my hair every day with a mix of water, Tresemme nourishing moisture conditioner and some almond oil mixed in a spray bottle.
Not sure how much longer I will have the crochet braids in for, I am gunning for about 8 weeks ( if I do not get bored). How have you guys been maintaining your protective styles? Any tips?
