Touch of Colour; Necklace DIY

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Hey Kurlies

The other day as I was finally unpacking some boxes, I discovered a pretty necklace that I bought a year ago. As I pulled it out excited ( already thinking how to style it) I found out that it had been ruined, by moisture I believe.

I hate throwing things a way...I am a huge hoarder at heart and decided that something that to be done. I picked up a pretty shade of nail polish and painted the damn thing! Alas, the results were fantastic! It actually now looks like the necklace is made of enamel, Result! Enough of my rambling, have a looksee at the necklace below

The nail polish used, its by Luron and about Kshs 110 bob from Nakumatt

 The finished product, pretty huh?

Any cute DIY ideas you guys have?

First of all, is that company magazine? I really enjoyed that issue!!! What a clever idea, I love the result. My DIYs these days involve trips to the hardware store.

Hi I have run out of top coat so did not use it...but would be a good idea to add some top coat to make it last longer

Toothpaste also works for me on jewellery leave it on for a few minutes less than five and then rinse and wipe with a paper towel.

It is also hard to come by in the States, at least in my village. I love Ivania's style, I believe that is where I got the idea from. I totally love her aesthetic!!
