Colour me Burgundy Take Two!

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Following up on the Colour Me Burgundy post, I was tasked with writing a review of the temporary hair colour product, see picture below!

So being the clumsy bunny that I am, I pleaded with Mary to apply the colour for me. Armed with an unloved Khanga we sprayed the colour on a couple of times until we got the desired hue and let it dry. This colour gets on everything, so make sure to keep all your beloved things far, far away!

The smell is kinda weird as well, kinda perfumey with a nail polishy smell!

Washing off the colour was easy, I just co-washed and rinsed my hair twice and it was all off. However be warned, the colour kinda flakes so after spending the afternoon with Mary I went home, looked in the mirror and my forehead was Burgundy!

Its a great way to change your look temporarily. We shall look into where you can get this particular spray or any others and keep you posted.

Any of you use temporary colour? If you do what brands do you use and where can a girl get some?

This spray has been around for years, my mum has one, she bought it like ten years ago in the US. Its a gold brown color.Once in awhile I see her spray her wigs and back in the days when she had a longer mane and hair ,she used to use it on her curly kit. I'm sure it has expired but she really does not care, she'll just buy a new wig :D I tried it once, but I must have have sprayed it wrong, since then ,never been interested. Now you have ignited my spark to try it again. Anyway I think I spotted it a while back at the beauty wholesale shop near supercosmetics. But I have to confirm, maybe I saw my own things

Otherwise it looks cute

Love! It! Please share the details. I've wanted to dye my hair but too scared for a permanent change. Where did you get it, how much and are there different colors?

beauty options kimathi street has a simmilar product for about 600/=. i wasnt too keen on which brand at that time (JANUARY 2013) because i have never tried to achieve temporary color using spray can hair color.

The cheapest alternative is body art quality henna mehandi or nupur 185/= red, maroon or brown food color and a nice thick treatment like hair mayonnaise, marrow, lorys ceramide or something similar. I have not tried it out on my natural hair but when i was relaxed,..it as a sure fire way and results lasted 3 weeks . expect stains so wear scarves to protect your collars and sleep in a scarf on a positive note, no flaking and no dryness per say
