Skin Woes

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

So the skin gods have been unkind! They have walloped me with small very painful spots mainly on my forehead and the side of my face. At the beginning I thought it was due to not washing my make up brushes (hangs head in shame). I swiftly cleaned my brushes with anti bacterial soap and said a little prayer hoping that the spots would disappear. Ha!! This pecky buggers were not having it. Evidence below,

Since then I have decided to not wear makeup apart from concealer and mascara, and use only 3 products on my face. My regimen for the next month will be

Morning
Wash face with Pears Soap for 10 secs, with gentle circular movements
Let face airdry
Apply sunscreen and moisturiser
Apply under eye concealer, mascara, Done!

Evening
Wash face with Pears Soap
Let face airdry
Apply Panoxyl cream on areas with spots, avoiding eye and mouth area ( I have learnt this the hard way, I did not avoid the mouth area earlier and had tonnes of peeling there)
Let the cream dry then apply moisturiser

Maybe you have just been a bit more oily then usual. No worries, doll face. I'm glad you've taken care of it.

Steam treatments help alot if you have oily skin. You can do it one a week or once in 2 weeks.Follow up with an exfoliating cleanser. The breakouts could also be due to something in the makeup you used before.

@MrsWardy88...Awwww Thanks :-)...its slowly getting better, Thank Jesus!
@Sue..I have the driest skin on this planet, which is why its so strange coz I hardly get breakouts. They could be because of makeup, thats why I am on a one month break

They can also be due to something you ate... or your build up from your hair products...

You might want to evaluate some of the products you use on your hair also...I'm leaning toward MrsWardy, I think it may be product buildup.

I would stay away from the pan oxyl this will cause more trouble than remedy .. my face started from tiny spots to acne (major) and worse from medication like that

@MrsWardy88 and Erika.. I am so careful to avoid pomade acne...always washing my face after doing anything to my hair etc...but that could be it..will reduce the no. of products I use and see if that helps..
@Anon1, I drink almost 2 and a half litres of water a day...yet nothing..Pears is amazing isn't it?
@Anon2, Panoxyl is very strong but it seems to be working.. I am careful and use sunscreen when using it and also apply loads of moisturiser coz it really dries out skin...Thanks for the warning..

Changing your pillow case regularly also helps with the oil from your hair gets on your pillow and on your face.
