Overdue cut!

Monday, August 22, 2011

Hey guys, Had a good weekend? Mine had me frustrated, my hair was all in knots and everytime I go to touch my hair my fingers pick up stray strands, broken strands and knots. Argh!!!! So annoying. I have been telling Mary that I need to cut my hair and she always says NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..."just leave it and trim a little". I have been doing that for a few months and nothings changed

So Kshs 260 later for a pair of hair shears and some helpful hands, got my hair cut at home. All I did was get it wet with conditioner then sectioned off into 6 sections and cut. My ends feel amazing. I cut quite a lot of hair, the hair at the back is shorter (2-3inches) with the front being longer. Hmmm we shall see how this uneveness goes on :-)

Before the cut, Can you see the knots dangling from the rest of the hair?

After, a bit uneven but I love it.

The hair cut has made my ends feels lovely, its much shorter than I thought , the shrinkage is amazing. The reason for the hair cut was to get healthier hair and oh well, hair does grow after all. I will try take pics of how it looks from the front. I am totally feeling this hair cut :-)

Happy Monday lovelies

I love the cut. Wet cut versus dry cut, always debatable though.. why'd you choose the dry cut?

@Dee Thanks my hair took a few years to get that long despite a few cut here and there.
@Wambui and 1BlessedNatural the ends feel amazing and the styling has been so quick and easy..
@Anonymous..I think you mean wet cut, I do not have any particular prejudice against dry cut, i just thought it would be easier to cut it wet...Thanks

@adl...The best way to trim your ends is to twist your hair then carefully cut off the ends of the twists....cut upto half an inch. My cut was more drastic and I just got my boyfriend to help me...i gave him detailed instructions :-). This is a good video that could help you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uVUsOTOmsg

Hey...I like your blog. You're doing a good job. But placing your cut ends on a paper that reads 'Isiolo residents continue to starve due to inadequate food relief', plus the accompanying picture of a starving lady and her child can only lead this post to be filed under 'epic fail' (though I know it can't have been on purpose. Just creating awareness...one step at a time)

@G, how thrilled we are at your valued affection for our modest blog :) we appreciate your distinct eye. Your talent to scope out the dark and dreary where others only see blind vanity is
astonishing. We commend you..The hair was placed on a discarded newspaper, a page out of hundreds. We like to recycle, being the green friendly women that we are. From your comment, your definition of an "epic fail" is us not censoring the dark truth and realities of the world we live in. That is our understanding. However, if you are trying to insinuate that we are insensitive and care not for the plight of our fellow countrymen, then we'll have to ask you to come at us with your validation and reason. We do not take that lightly.
