Mini Haul and Braids are out!

Friday, April 8, 2011

So yesterday on my lunch break, I run to the beauty supply store..read Super Cosmetics in Westlands. I had already made a list of everything I wanted and had my budget ready, (yay! Me). I got the items above for Ksh 1450. List below,

Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cholesterol Deep Conditioner - Ksh 345
Organics Olive Oil Cream Moisturiser - Kshs 395
Ecostyler Pink gel - Kshs 195
Alberto Balsam Juice Green Apple Conditioner - Kshs 270
ORS Replenishing Pak- Kshs 150
Godrej Nupur Henna - Ksh 95

I took down my braids last night, this took about an hour and a half while watching TV. I then co washed my hair, I did not shampoo because I had shampooed the weekend before. I made sure my hair was clean after the co washing, then used a mix of the olive oil cholesterol and and ors replenishing pak and left this on my head for an hour. I then detangled with a wide toothed comb.

After detangling, I applied the organics cream moisturiser then sealed with raw Shea butter. I then did 4 big twists and put on a silk head scarf ready for bed. This morning was simply throwing the hair in a bun and headband and out for the day.

I will take time to review all these products for you guys.

Happy Friday.

Can't wait to see your hair love. It makes me happy, really.

I had no idea there was Eco Styler here, I think I just assumed it wasn't available because I kept hearing about it on so many blogs that aren't based here.

I got a couple of products this week as well. Last year after BCing, I started using this Shea Butter Detangling Lotion for Kids by Africa's Best...it was really nice, I don't know why I stopped using it so I went to the store and got that, as well as the Olive Oil Conditioning and Smoothing Gel for Kids(With no alcohol) by the same company. I haven't used gel before as I was always afraid of the crunchiness and hard hold but I'm loving it. My hair has been really, REALLY soft, and even with a wash and go, my curls are super defined. Loving it!! By the way, I bought these at Tusky's, which is a lot cheaper than Super Cosmetics when it comes to some products, if you can find them.

I just did a henna treatment this Monday, and trimmed off about an inch following this method by The Natural Haven (Who happens to be Kenyan!!!!). http://thenaturalhaven.blogspot.com/2010/06/method-to-see-split-ends-no-heat.html

One last thing, Raw Shea Butter...any way you can help me get my hands on some? I really want this fro to grow, thanks for all the info you dispense. Really appreciate it.

i looooooooooove this am wondering the olive oil has petrolatum and mineral oil what are your thoughts on that?

Nyachomba said...

@Shiz...Petrolatum and mineral oil are one and the same, we go by if its works for your hair use it, my hair still feels great after using the product and because it has mineral oil i will not stop using it. If it however made my hair feel awful then be sure it would be tossed in the bin
