Deep Conditioning Diva!

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Hey all,

So I ran into the Lovely Miss Voe after work early this week, and Lo! to my surprise, the little lady was armed with a pink towel with a mega deep condition in place.

Bless her heart!

We met at Nakumatt Village Market; hair and beauty products aisle of course

Voe has been natural all her life and has lovely thick hair... I'll be giving her her first henna treatment this Sunday, stay tuned :)

The pink towel was the cherry on top for me! lol!

The reason I was so over-joyed to see her deep conditioning so calmly in public was because I thought I was the only person in Kenya who pulled such nonchalant stunts. I am hardly self-conscious and take advantage of a head-wrap/ towel-wrap whenever I feel the need to (work included).

Her deep condition was a mixture of regular moisturizing conditioner, olive oil and coconut oil (Voe feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken); she is also a fan of Africa's Best Organics Cholesterol and Tea-Tree Oil (leave in) Deep Conditioner.

So good for you Voe! Own it :)

See you Sunday!

Thanks for reading everyone.

hahaha :) i must thank Mary for featuring me on the blog :) thank you, thank you. and you got my ingredients for my deep conditioner correct but i will admit i mixed a rather protein heavy deep conditioner Botanical Marrow that i found out is much better suited for relaxed hair and way too much for my natural hair. thanks for the save there Mary :)

Nyash i'm glad the 3 of us are proud to walk around with our deep conditioning set in our hair. i would like to encourage your readers and followers to feel as free and comfortable. just because your deep conditioning doesn't mean you have to put everything else on hold :)

lol!! I don't deep condition (i.e conditioner is left in my hair for about 10-15 minutes max!) so this is not an issue for me. I will be rinsed and ready to leave my house in minutes.

I know of people who deep condition under a scarf, head wrap or wig but this is a first for me!

Whoa! This is also a first for me! A head wrap maybe but I wouldn't do a towel. I leave conditioner in my hair for 15-20 minutes max, I call it deep conditioning but I guess it's not?! After sitting under a dryer for that amount of time,I'm good to go. BTW, there's a typo in your post: "so calmly in pubic". You may want to correct it ;)...

I must admit the Voe is more woman than I am..coz I normally tie a headwrap and pretend that I was rocking a headwrap that day lol...

LOL...apparently i also don't deep condition, didn't know it was meant to take longer than 20minutes, i am schooled! My mama would have whooped my ass if she ever knew i left the gate with a towel on my head, hehehe! guts and glory voe, guts and glory.

Hahaha!! next time people i will give a head wrap a try :) I guess I'm not self conscience, if people stare I smile :)

And Anonymous, Mary did spell 'public' correctly in her post :) unless she made the correction recently.

Have a lovely weekend ladies :)
