Chilli Gets Her Henna On

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Hey All!

I hope you're aces! So a couple of weeks ago, Nyash and I had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Chilli Mango and her delightful friend, the lovely Ms. Deevine, to the wonderful world of henna. Ms Dee is a newly natural with amazing lush locks, she currently has hair colour on, so hers was a supportive and inquisitive role, her company was highly appreciated (thanks again for the Jell-O)!!!

Chilli... Skeptical at first.... :)

Nyash and I had prepared the henna mix well before hand; we started off by misting her hair with some gly +water mix and I proceeded to apply the mystical magic paste!

Let the application, BEGIN!

Meanwhile, Nyash gave Miss Dee a natural hair consultation and demystified natural hair. Deevine has 3c hair, she has never known her hair in its natural state, not until recently when she had her big chop...

Deevines curls are simply, well, divine!!

Chilli has a thick head of hair! As I was applying the henna I must admit now (I didn't then) that I was worried that one packet of Nurpur wouldn't cut it! But luckily enough it did! :) Phew!

All henna'd up!

I then sealed her hair with a disposable shower cap and wrapped her hair with a funky scarf. Lil mama was looking fierce!

Fierce.

It was a lovely afternoon! Nyash and I got to play around with hair (a favorite pass of ours) in the company of two awesome ladies! We went for a couple of drinks thereafter and kicked it. Fun times.

GORGEOUS girls!! Oh, that's Dee on the right :)

I'll definitely ask Chilli to send in some after pictures. Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!

Thanks Miss Nyash.

It was such an awesome day, and my hair felt so much stronger afterwards. I have to say, I'm looking forward to my next henna treatment as soon as I take down these protective braids. Now I understand why my mother has been doing henna treatments religiously all these years.

I tried to take after pics, but my phone cams and my little point and shoot didn't quite cut it but I'll send you what I got.

Thanks lovelies, had such a blast hanging out with you guys, we should definitely do it again.

Cheers.
