New Year, New Name; It's all about the New New

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Hey there, how are you.

Today is a an awesome day! Allow me to explain why... today is the day Nyachomba and I finally drop the new blog name, to you, our esteemed readers and followers.

After sleepless nights and endless days we finally came up with, what we find, a fitting name for the blog. It's short(er), to the point (somewhat) and kinda easy to remember... For those of you who might not know why we are renaming the blog, find the explanation here. We are taking it one step at a time, although not necessarily in that order.

Enough chit chat! ON TO THE MAIN EVENT!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that we hereby announce the new blog name,

I rather like it! It's got a nice alliteration thing going on and its catchy (or should I say katchy (lol) - oh lord that was awful). Most importantly we find that this new name is representative of what Nyash and I are all about.

I love this picture

Our hair be MAD KURLY yaol! We wouldn't have it any other way :) PLUS we just happen to use vichana (plural of kichana) on a regular basis. Nuff said.

So what does it mean?

Kurly (correct spelling 'curly' [ˈkɜːlɪ])
adj curlier, curliest
noun curliness
1. tending to curl; curling
2. having curls

Kichana (Kiswahili word for 'hair comb')

Curly hair comb! :)

So there you have it my lovelies; please let us know what you think.

Love and affection, from your two Kenyan Kurlies... Oh... I rather like that as well! hmmmm...

Love the blog..its awesome to see a Kenyan natural hair blog!

I like the new name as well..that picture reminds me of childhood, getting my hair braided or in cornrows at the salon while I sat on a low stool..the backache and numbness and pain that went with that experience..aah memories..

@Val...Thank you very much. The picture bring so many memories of sitting on a stool, slowly holding back tears because of tight braids...not good...But it also bring back memories of bonding with mother over big matutas/ braids
