Suave Naturals Conditioner Review

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Hello Ladies...and Gents. I think we have been overdue a product review post, well todays the day we review my almost holy grail conditioner. When I first started my natural hair journey, I read loads of American blogs and they all mentioned Suave tropical coconut conditioner. As a product junkie then, my aim was to find this amazing conditioner and be in awe of what it would do to my tresses...unfortunately I could not find it in England at the time and when I got to Nairobi there was no chance of me getting it here.

But Alas!!!You can find it in Kenya. (Who says Kenya is not the greatest country ever hee hee). Well I first discovered this conditioner at Super Cosmetics on the avenue better known as Electric, however they only had stock sporadically. Upon a visit to Nakumatt Junction ( Is it only me who goes straight to the Hair Product aisle whenever I enter a supermarket?) Well I found that Nakumatt Junction as well as Nakumatt Karen stock a wide range of Suave Hair Products. This is super because this product is amazing.

Ingredients Suave Green Apple Conditioner

Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Potassium Chloride, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Tocopheryl Acetate [Vitamin E Acetate], Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Pyrus Malus Apple) Fruit, Methylisothiazolinone, Glycerin, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Blue 1 (CI 42090)

Ingredients Tropical Coconut Conditioner

Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Distearyldimonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Glycerin, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Propylene Glycol,Trocopheryl Acetate [Vitamin E Acetate], Silk Amino Acids, Honey, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Extract

Kshs 215-250

Both of this products are really good. The tropical coconut conditioner is very thick and sometimes I even need some water just to make it more liquid. It smells amazing and every one will want to sniff your hair should you use this. I feel this conditioner is best used as a deep conditioner but only if you add in some other ingredients such as honey, coconut milk and olive/coconut oil. The conditioner also acts well as an add in to henna treatments due to its thickness. It can also be used as a leave in conditioner but it does not have a lot of slip

The Green apple conditioner smells heavenly as well. This conditioner is amazing as a cowash conditioner because it has great slip. A wide toothed comb just slides through hair when you use this conditioner. I also use this when doing flat twists because it helps my fingers glide through my hair as I twist my hair. Its great used as a leave in conditioner and as a cowash conditioner.

This conditioners are cheap, last a long time and leave my hair feeling lovely. I highly recommend them.

Would I purchase
I definitely would. Whenever I am in any Nakumatt I buy at least two bottles so as to keep my stock always full.

Flat Twist out done using Suave Green Apple as my leave-in

Fantastic!! I've been making do with Enliven Coconut and Vanilla, and Africa's Best stuff, wishing we had Aussie Moist!! I love the pricing as well coz I really love to co-wash!!

And yes, whenever I get to a supermarket, I spend at least 80% of my time in the hair products aisle!!

Thanks for the heads up on this one love. And your hair is looking gorgeous...did you know you're one of my hair idols???

Hey guys I am so sorry for not commenting sooner, the comment box was being funny.

@Chilli Mango, Oh how I wish we had Aussie Moist but hey maybe in time, Nakumatt will get some..The suave conditioners are brilliant for cowashes because you only need a little and they work so well...Hahahaha I know!! I always dash off to the hair aisle whenever I am in a supermarket..anyway guess it comes with the territory of having natural hair. Awww Blush!!Hair Idol really?Well Thanks!!

@Anonymous Suave Green Apple could easily be HEHH biggest competitions because it gives the great slip that HEHH gives so make sure you try it and its also about Kshs 200 cheaper

@Zip Thanks, I shall definitely incorporate more product reviews, As for fairy knots just sit down on evening and snip them off because they will only retard your growth. But also they come with the territory of having curly hair
